My name is Gareth.  I am a Person-Centred counsellor and have been practising since I qualified in 2024.  I decided to become a counsellor after facing some significant challenges in my own life that showed me the benefit of having someone to talk to outside of friend and family groups.

Person-Centred Counselling starts from a simple premise: that most of us, given the right conditions, are capable of figuring out our own lives. What gets in the way is usually a mix of other people’s expectations and the pressure we pile on ourselves — often without fully realising it.  As a Person-centred counsellor I seek to build a strong, trusting relationship with you in order to create the right conditions to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and get a clearer view of what those patterns actually are, where they come from, and gradually, how to stop letting them run the show.
